The forbidden city

     The Forbidden City of China, in Chinese language is called "Gugong", it's the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It's huge and beautiful!
　　The reason for constructing the Forbidden City is make a big palace to protect the emperor's life is safe. The Forbidden City is in China's capital-Beijing. The meaning of the Forbidden City in the older day is that's the place that the emperor live, the place that shows the authoritativeness that the emperor have, and the place that can keep the emperor safe. But in today, there are no more emperor live in China, so the Forbidden City is only for tourism.
　　The Forbidden City lying at the center of Beijing was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Now known as the Palace Museum, it is to the north of Tiananmen Square. Rectangular in shape, it is the world's largest palace complex and covers 74 hectares. Surrounded by a six meter deep moat and a ten meter high wall are 9,999 buildings.
　　The Forbidden City is very important in China, in older day, that's the place the emperor live. Because the emperor have power to control all the country, so the Forbidden City just like the goverment headcentre, all the laws, orders are from here, from the emperor. But in 2004 today, it's still important to Chinese people. Because it's the moest biggest palace in the world, it shows the history and the culture of China. Also, it make Chinese people pride. The Forbidden City is important today and the older day.

The temple of heaven

     The place where Ming and Qing emperors came to pray for good harvests. The three-story round temple building rises from a large square platform four meters high fittingly standing in a ceremonial ground surrounded by acres of ancient trees. The echo stones leading to the temple, the  echo wall  that goes  around it  and  the  stories associated  with praying  there to Heaven, still lend an sir of mystery to the place,UNESCO listed it as one of the world heritages in 1998.

The summer palace

     The summer  palace occupies  an area of  290 hectares. The earth  dug from Kunming Lake was used to create  longevity hill. Beside  the rippling  lake  waters  and the  magnificent hill, terraces, towers, pavilions, hall, temples, pagodas, a long corridor, a marble boat, a theater and many other structures  together  make up this  unusual place  that  once served  as a  villa and  garden for the imperial family. UNESCO listed it as one of the world heritages in 1998.

A visit to Hutong by pedicab

     The pedicabs ride on the streets slowly and smoothly and passengers really can see the sight.
     Therefore overseas visitors would like to take a pedicab .another reason is why they are sometimes at a premium. Beijing is an ancient city well-known for its vast number of tiny Hutongs behind the broad streets and avenues. A taxi bothers to go into the Hutongs, when it does, the taxi finds the Hutong  leading  nowhere.  A pedicab  is useful  on such  occasion,  able  to take  passengers to  places   deep  in  the  Hutongs  unmarked  on  the  visitors  map.
