Yanbu City lies in the coast of the Red Sea that separates two continents and exists between two seas. The Red Sea is the most divers sea in the world in marine life, most of its animals originate from the Indian ocean.
The Red Sea is famous for its coral reefs, bearing scientific and economic values. Its length is 1930 km. Average width is 300 km. The narrowest width is 27 km at Bab AL-Mandab. Average depth is 2400 m. Average sea bottom temperature is 55 C. The Red Sea has a specialized Arab organization consisted of the Red Sea countries in charge of environment protection and investment of its wealth. Lurking places and its hidden treasures attracted divers and explorers of sea bottom to wade in its deepness and enjoy wonderful and thrilling experiences. The Red Sea, is one of the most beautiful seas in the world for its coral reefs and its contents of varied and different creatures which indeed enrich the studies of researchers. It has always resembled a scientific field owing to the varied species of fish and corals that proliferate, grow and then turn to stone. Diving sport continues throughout the year because of the mild climate of Yanbu. The most important fish known among people of Yanbu are: Najil fish, AL-Haried, Damself fish, AL-Shour, AL-Sijan, AL-Bayad, AL-Hamour, Maray eel, Garfish, Sharks and other hundreds of fish species considered to be the bounty of Red Sea. |
