AVID is a program for students who are falling short of achieving their academic potential. They are students in the middle, who are motivated to learn, but need to learn strategies, receive tutoring, and encouragement to be successful  academically and in the real world. Many AVID students are the first in their families to attend college. AVID is designed for students who want to attend college, but need the extra help to be able to attend.

AVID Activities

 Learning with college tutors

Writing & Reading for all classes

Developing strategies such as Cornell Notes, organization, study & critical thinking skills

Learn about colleges and college options

 Setting academic & professional goals

 Interacting with guest speakers

Participation in extracurricular & community activities

 College campus visits

PRE-AVID is offered for all 6th graders who are not enrolled in an AVID class.
