AVID is a program for students who are
falling short of achieving their academic potential. They are students in the
middle, who are motivated to learn, but need to learn strategies, receive
tutoring, and encouragement to be successfulacademically and in the real world. Many AVID students are
the first in their families to attend college. AVID is designed for students
who want to attend college, but need the extra help to be able to attend.
