A saying I rather like is, "He who makes no mistakes makes nothing." I don't regret the mistakes I made because few have done lasting damage and many things I have done that seemed to be mistakes at the time led me to good places and situations that I would never have gotten to it I hadn't made those so called mistakes. Then there is the wisdom I think I read here about just trying to fail better next time. I felt good yesterday about just being able to successfully put the annual new registration sticker on my car after just peeling the old one off, without having to do any scraping, and putting the new one on without losing any in the process, as has happened most times I've done it in the time I've lived here in Tasmania. I still tend to think I will try, try and then ask myself if it is really worth doing, and failures give me something interesting to talk about at meetings. |
