The Akron Cardinals moved to 2-0 on the season with a win over the newly formed Three Cities Baseball Club on Sunday, April 26th. Ken Pitman pitched a complete game shutout, allowing only 3 hits and 2 walks while recording 12 strikeouts. Christopher Carzoo led the offensive attack, going 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBIs. Bryan Youngblood was 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored, 2 RBIs and a walk, and DJ Costic went 2-for-4 with 3 runs scored, an RBI and 2 walks. The Cardinals will look to avenge 2 close losses from 2008 and improve to 3-0 when they take on the Colts next Sunday, May 3rd. The game is scheduled for 4:30pm at Hudson High School. |
