The Akron Cardinals compete in the Open Division of NEO Roy Hobbs Baseball. Roy Hobbs Baseball was formed in Akron, Ohio in 1993 and is now a national organization that boasts over 500 affiliated teams around the world. We
are a group of friends who believe that playing baseball should not end
at age 22. While Major League Baseball players fight over
multi-million dollar contracts, we fight to get to games and practices
after we work our regular jobs. Our days are not spent in training
rooms; they are spent as project managers, students, construction
workers, computer programmers and delivery drivers. The Akron Cardinals were formed in 2002 under the direction of Ben McGarry. Tony Spinelli served as manager from 2004-2007. In 2008, Paul Thompson assumed those duties. |
