Alex is a journalist in New York City. He received a master's degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in May 2008. A San Francisco native, Alex has reported in Española, N.M., Seattle and Washington, D.C. During his undergraduate career, he studied in Oslo, Norway.

In 2009, Alex started working as a producer for CBSNews.com. His articles have appeared in the Chicago Tribune, the Fort Worth (Tex.) Star-Telegram, the New York Post and The Philadelphia Inquirer. He has also contributed local reporting for The New York Times. During his studies at Columbia, he managed the blog Brooklyn Races, which focused on various election contests in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Alex received his bachelor's degree in journalism and political science from the University of Washington in Seattle.
