Ball Valve Vs Butterfly Valve
butterfly valve
- A valve consisting of a pair of semicircular plates that are attached to a spindle across a pipe and hinged to allow flow only one way
- a valve in a carburetor that consists of a disc that turns and acts as a throttle
- (Butterfly Valves) A valve consisting of a cylindrical body with a rotating vane to control flow. Tight Shutoff is obtained by an elastomer body liner into which the vane seats.
- A valve consisting of a disk rotating on an axis across the diameter of a pipe to regulate the flow, as in the throttles of many engines
- A butterfly valve is a valve which can be used for isolating or regulating flow. The closing mechanism takes the form of a disk. Operation is similar to that of a ball valve, which allows for quick shut off.
ball
- Squeeze or form (something) into a rounded shape
- round object that is hit or thrown or kicked in games; "the ball travelled 90 mph on his serve"; "the mayor threw out the first ball"; "the ball rolled into the corner pocket"
- form into a ball by winding or rolling; "ball wool"
- musket ball: a solid projectile that is shot by a musket; "they had to carry a ramrod as well as powder and ball"
- Clench or screw up (one's fist) tightly
- Form a round shape
Ends: Fried Risotto Balls
Fried risotto balls with vanilla anglaise and chocolate sauce. Vanilla ice cream. Notes: The outside was fried crispy like a beignet. The interior of the risotto balls were coconut flavored - I suspect it was a rice porridge/pudding fortified with coconut milk. My first impression upon biting into the cake was: deep-fried Almond Joy. The inside was moist and sticky, like the coconut filling inside the candy bars. I'm curious what type of rice they used to make these "risotto balls" with. The interior was very moist and gummy - specifically, just like glutinous rice - not at all like arborio rice traditionally used for making risotto.
Spot The Ball
This game doesn't seem to be on Flickr yet. Simple rules. Add a note where you think the ball should be.
