Congregation Ahavat Yahshua
A Hebraic Faith Assembly
We are pleased to present this web page to the international community.
You may freely download and distribute any and all of our audio and printed messages.
We do not solicit funds either online or in our meetings.
We do not hesitate to ask for prayer however; especially as we become increasingly more convinced that the
biblical scriptures are being fulfilled both in Israel and throughout the world.
Our financial obligations are fulfilled by the gifts and free will offerings of G-d's dedicated people who realize
their opportunity of service as the wall between Jew and Gentile dissolves into loving fellowship through Yahshua.
- Rebbe Tivon Meir
Congregation Ahavat Yahshua is a group of Jewish and non-Jewish believers in the Messiah who get together on Saturday (Sabbath) to worship G-d.
A more detailed description of the congregation's calling says that we are best described as a Covenant Judaism group, but not one solely based on Judaism, because all Jewry recognizes circumcision and conversion as its basic tenent for which we have no requirement. Further, Christian, is not a descriptor that accurately describes the congregation because we are distanced from church doctrines by our dedication to Jewish ongoing holy days and the fact we do not observe Easter, Christmas, and Sunday while we do lend ourselves to biblical descriptions of celebration such as The Sabbath, Yom Kippur, The Feast of Trumpets, Purim and others.
Jeremiah 31:31 "Behold, the days come, saith HaShem, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah"
As in Romans 11:17 "If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root" come and see how you are grafted into the root.
And, as in, Genesis 49:10 "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be."
Zechariah 14:4 of the Hebrew Bible declares and identifies a soon coming King who is to set His foot in Jerusalem.
Zechariah 12:10 describes Him as being recognized by the inhabitants as a first born son who is grieved for. This may well be due to the fact that for several thousand years He has systematically been rejected by many from this area.
Another passage in Daniel portrays him as presenting himself before the Ancient of Days in order to receive an everlasting Kingdom. (Daniel 7:9-14).
We at Congregation Ahavat Yahshua are privileged to worship Yahshua by choice even before He makes himself known to our brethren by a physical appearance. Our meetings and celebrations are open to all, where we will be most pleased to welcome you in person.
WEEKLY SERVICES
This is your invitation to attend our service Saturday morning at 10:30 AM. We are a local congregation made up of both Jewish and non-Jewish people. Our group is not a branch of any distant influence and most, if not all, of us work in the Finger Lakes area and support this Fellowship in Ithaca. We selected the name Ahavat Yahshua for our congregation because it clearly makes known that we are convinced that Yahshua is The Messiah. Our services consist of the weekly Torah portion, reading from the Prophets and worship in song and occasionally dance. Several traditional and original prayers are also part of our structure, as is, the weekly message delivered by a congregational leader. We worship The Lord G-d of Israel in the service and then enjoy a delightful light lunch (Oneg) together on the premises.
Besides our weekly Shabbat services, it is also our joy to observe G-d's appointed feasts and observances: Passover, Shavuot, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kipper, Simchat Torah, Sukkot, Chanukah, and Purim.
PRINCIPLES...
Our goal is to explain in simple terms what it means to enter into a relationship with our creator based upon the scriptures given to the world through the Hebrew people and scriptures. We will make available to you freely, our weekly teachings in downloadable mp3 format from our congregational meetings. . Our prayer is that you will be blessed and G-d will be honored. Please feel free to use and share anything in the context of this endeavor.
A promise saying to Abraham, 'In your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed.' Gen 17:5 Neither will your name any more be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham; for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
Gen 18:18 since Abraham has surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed in him?
A promise to Moses Dt 18:15 Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.
Dt 18:18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.
19 It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20 But the prophet, who shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die."
21 If you say in your heart, "How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?"
22 when a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh, if the thing doesn't follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken: the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you shall not be afraid of him.
Who has come from the Hebrews to prophesy to the nations?
Matt 24:14 This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
