The Japanese club was started by Mrs Gillian Winter when she moved to AGGS. Mrs Winter had lived in Japan while her husband was working there. In September 2009, Mrs Rie Pickering took over from her and in April 2010 Miss Kelly McGuire will take over. Apart from Japanese Club, AGGS also has an exchange relationship with Nagoya International High School in Japan. For the past two years students from Japan have come to AGGS for a term and last year two students from AGGS visited Japan along with two members of staff.
