Mermaid I recently picked up a new speedlight and since I was over at the girl's house for the weekend, I had some spare time to play around with my new toy. Not knowing what to shoot, I asked my gf's sister's bf for suggestions and he said "take pictures of the topless mermaid". So I decide, the heck, why not! It's a sculpture, it has good details and might make a good subject to photograph. Here is one of the shots that was taken. This piece was actually the part that holds up the glass coffee tabletop. According to him, this shot looks like something out of a museum's display case. What do you guys think? I think the face could have used a little more light. Rescued these girls from a basket in the bathroom. Poor things have been abused as bathtime toys for generations of children (okay, only two generations, and yeah, I did some of the abusing). I was driven to claim these two as my own when I noticed the decapitated head of the right one sitting on top of the toy basket; I had to search for a while to find her body, which my nephews had ever so kindly flung into a corner.
