Sword Fishing The Atlantic -Shadowbox Head Board Shadowboxes are fascinating works of art that can be displayed in homes, restaurants, businesses or any place that has wall space for them. These are great accents -especially for the maritime community. These bulky objects tell stories that capture the human spirit in ways that's unexplainable. For the most part all one can do is gaze at them early in the morning or before retiring to bed. Here, I feature a shadowbox as a head board over the bed and accented the corner of the room with one of my half hull models and a sailfish woodcarving. The possibilities are endless; however, it's the theme that sends the message. That's the focus of my work -the themes. Pumphouse Restaurant, Swansea Marina
Back in the days of yore, this was actually the pumping station for the lock it stands adjacent to. When the Marina was redeveloped, it was turned into a 'Beefeater' restaurant with lots of timber and ye olde nautical nick-nacks for decor. Now it's own by Brains Brewery, and despite the high-brow metal-and-glass refurbishment, it still looks like a mental institution from the outside.
