Assignment: PCA23 - Food - Shoot something scrummy Deadline: April 13, 2008 Image Tag: pca23 From: Pockets1 Misson: Good images of food make you wanna break out the saucepans and apron, whilst making your mouth water (well do me anyway) This assigment is to take a Shot of delilicious foods that you like to cook. My idea is to create a PCA cookbook with your favourite recipies, snacks or deserts. If your not the cooking type you my use your favourite takeaway or the person that does the cooking in your home. WIT (What It Took): One of my most favorite things to cook is decorated sugar cookies with my daughter. We've been making them since she was two and do them for every holiday. Her library teachers and now her kindergarten teachers are well stocked with them. Still had a few Easter cookies left so arranged them in a bowl and shot with a flash. Eliana saw what I was doing and was trying to snatch one so I figured I would make that part of the shot. That's when I thought of the title Hare Today Gone Tomorrow. Hehe. For post processing, fixed the color balance so both shots were as close as I could get them. Sharpening didn't help much for the bowl on the right, which is OOF because I wanted Eli's eyes to be sharp. Sigh. Cloned out some small distractions in the background of the shot on right. Recipe: Use your favorite roll out sugar cookie recipe. For the icing, I pour confectioner's sugar into a small bowl, about two cups or so. Then add a tiny amount of milk and stir. Add more milk or confectioner's sugar until you get the consistency good for smoothing onto the cooled cookies. Before spreading, I also add food coloring and a few drops of any flavor extract, such as vanilla or orange or raspberry. Before icing dries, add any kinds of candies for details. When dry, you can use tube "writing icing" from the grocery store for details, too, or make your own using the same recipe above but thicker and use your own pastry bags and tips.
