Veritas Stove Kerosene Kero Spirit Oil Lamp Reg'd Design No.236937, 215311 & 239506 Cast Iron 28" Tall x 10" Square 13kg
What a superb piece of Cast Iron Work with Reg'd Design in the castings, The Case itself has Rd No 215311 Cast into it on the inside of the front opening door. The other design Registration marks, 215311 & 239506 are under the removable cover, Is it a Veritas Stove? I am not sure what it is, The top comes off to reveal a grill to put a cooking pan or a kettle on to it. It has a lot going for it, Nice crisp castings, the ring in the bottom probably held a burner of some kind, the glass would have split or cracked with heat if it had a high temperature burner, perhaps a warmer or a decorative light? an Antique Bain Maree? were the Colored Glass plates just grilles and replaced with something more decorative? I know what it says it is but if anyone out there knows what this is or someone with something the same that can send me some pics as to what was once inside it contact me on powerclocks@hotmail.com, my wife loves it so I was forgiven the purchase, it cost heaps but as they say on the Antiques shows, "If you buy it because you like it, it will always have value to you, If you buy it as a speculator Caveat Emptor.
