Fan Comments | Paintballs and Priests Eclipse’s View By: Sophia Ann Washington, U.S.A “OI! Jasper, I know your there!” I called out from my hiding spot from behind a bush. Jasper, Jack, Sammy, Scarlet, Seara and I were playing paintball. A red paintball flew past my head like a bird. “Dang it!” I heard Scarlet yell. I rolled out from behind my bush and began firing. “Ow, OW! I’m out, dude!” Scarlet came out from behind a bush, a bright green spot on her chest. “Show your gun!” I hollered from behind my mask. She threw her gun at me. “Why you!” I fired once more and got her in the facemask. “Hey, that wasn’t very friendly.” She mumbled as she skulked off the field. “Game over, GAME OVER!” Sammy yelled happily. I threw off my mask and jumped into the air. Seara was on the out bench, cheering happily. Nice game, Sis!” Jasper called to me. Seara had shot him in the leg. Jaspers team had used red paintballs, while my team used green ones. Jaspers phone wrung from inside his pocket. He fumbled with it for a minute, and then flipped it out. “Hello?” he paused; I could hear Aunt Becky’s voice on the other line. “Yha, we will. Uh-hu, of course. Love yha too, bye.” He closed it and put it back in her pocket. Shaking off his sweatshirt, he stretched out his arms. We pulled off our own sweatshirts and wrapped our paintball guns in them. We than pilled into Jaspers truck and headed off. We had been in a field owned by one of our uncle’s friends. Therefore, they let us barrow it for a game of paintball. “How was the game?” Uncle Able asked me as we walked into the church. I smiled. “My team won, naturally.” We ate dinner together while swapping funny stories. Aunt Becky and Uncle Eathon were swapping stories of little kids playing soccer in the street. Uncle Demetrie and Aunt Cy-a were dishing potatoes. After dinner, I retreated to my room. Jasper, Jack, Scarlet, Seara, Sammy and I would be going back to Ireland tomorrow. Each weekend we came to St. Roses, in Rome to visit our mum. I crawled in to bed and snuggled in my sheets. An earlier discussion ran through my mind. Samantha and I were debating whether to leave or not. We couldn’t take going from one country to the other, every weekend. I had told Sammy that I was going to move to Seattle, Washington. First, I was going to stop in Brookland. She was with the idea, but reluctant to come along. She said she’d rather stay here until our triplet brothers were at least ten. I told her that the older ones could take care of them, and that they didn’t need us. She still didn’t want to come just yet. Nevertheless, I had made up my mind. I was leaving. Tomorrow night. On our flight back home, we would separate. You see, before the plane would land in Dublin, I would hide out in the bathroom. After they checked the baggage compartments that were above the seats, I would sneak into one in the back. While I was in the bathroom, I would slip on a wig. We did this just to make sure a flight attendant didn’t recognize me. After the stop in Dublin, the plane would go to Brookland. After that, I’d just use the bit of magic I had in me to ‘Blink*’ to Seattle. I slept soundly, knowing I would be returning to Charlie and his horrid girlfriend tomorrow. Nevertheless, surprisingly, I was beginning to feel a little…. Homesick. *Blink-Being able to travel to a desired place faster than a blinking eye.
