Rebekah Leach, aerial dancer,

teacher, choreographer, author

I have a new Website to post all my aerial dance adventures: www.rebekahleach.com.

I will still keep this website up, but I will not longer be updating it.  Another website in the works is AerialDancing.com. It is up but there is still a lot of work to be done on it. AerialDancing.com is meant to be a resource website for aerial dancers. If you have any good ideas for it, let me know!

"The young woman will dance for joy, and the men-old and young-will join in the celebration. I will turn their mourning into joy. I will comfort them and exchanged their sorrow for rejoicing."

-the Lord in Jeremiah 31:13

"Dance is music made visible."

-George Balanchine

"I do not try to dance better than anyone else. I only try to dance better than myself."

-Mikhail Baryshnikov

"To watch us dance is to hear our hearts speak."

-Hopi Indian Saying

"Dance is the only art of which we ourselves are the stuff of which it is made."

-Ted Shawn

"We're fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance."

-Japanese Proverb

"True ease in writing comes from art, not chance,

As those move easiest who have learned to dance."

-Alexander Pope

"I don't want people who want to dance, I want people who have to dance."

-George Balanchine

And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly tunic... "I was dancing before the Lord, and I was willing to act like a fool in order to show my joy to the Lord."

- David in 2 Samuel 6

 My Mission Statement

If you are interested in knowing more about my personal thoughts, beliefs, and other ramblings, feel free to check out a blog I just recently started: frankcrane.blogspot.com

Announcement: The Beginning Aerial Fabric Instructional Manual; a step-by-step guide for teachers and students of aerial silks  is now for sale!

Over 250 pictures on over 90 quality color pages, and includes instruction on over 40 beginning aerial fabric moves. Instruction is included on basic climbs, the footlock, hiplock, iron T, and all beginning moves you can do that involve a basic footlock (footlock on both fabrics together on one foot), single footlock (footlock on just one fabric), and double footlock (footlock on both feet). There are also many other creative moves that will be new to almost any aerialist!

This book is a great supplemental resource for any beginning aerialist or any teacher of beginning silks. This book is not meant to teach you the skills, but to enhance the learning already taking place.

The cost of the book is $56.00. I am bummed that it costs so much, but even at that price, I believe it's totally worth it considering what is in the book. It's full color with lots of detail on every move. If you are looking for ways to enhance your experience on beginning fabric, I recommend this book! (But I am biased being the author.) :)

Click here to visit the book at Lulu.com.

Note: You can also download the book for 50% off the retail price!

This dance has a feel of a duet between a person on the knot and a person without the knot, displaying that both are equally wonderful as a dancing
partner. The music for this video is by Shawn McDonald, who I would LOVE to get the chance to perform with live one day. If anyone has the connections, let me know!

Below are some links to some of my other videos. All videos are at least one year old. New and current movement that is  being used now will find it's way into video files after at least a year...
