As part of our continued growth we are actively looking for a full time Field Systems Engineer – Chile and South America who is ready for the challenges, responsibilities, and rewards that come with working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. - Installs, configures and turns up SAFARI C3 at customer premises.
- Performs system upgrades (S/W and H/W)
- Integrates SAFARI C3 with other customer's equipment like VM and billing servers
- Facilitates the use of the SAFARI C3 in the customer environment.
- Assists and supports customer acceptance/certific ation testing.
- Establishes a professional working relationship with the entire customer team.
- Provides day-today coaching of customers on SAFARI C3 with the goal of customer comfort with the solution and self sufficiency.
- Provides an avenue for the customer to openly communicate issues to CPC.
- Helps manage the customer's expectation regarding SAFARI's capabilities.
- Works closely with the CPC engineering team to understand customer issues regarding fixes, changes or product enhancements.
- Provides an on-site presence to make CPC aware of the ever changing customer environment.
- Enters MRs to report issues found at the customer installations.
- Contributes to the Customer Support knowledge base
Required skills, knowledge and abilities: - Proven troubleshooting and problem solving skills are required.
- A working knowledge of broadband technologies and IT infrastructure are required.
- Knowledge of SS7 and related telephony technologies (such as SIP, H323).
- Working knowledge of VOIP networks and ability to troubleshoot and interpret MGCP & SIP traces
- Experience with embedded operating systems, Linux, Solaris, and Windows operating systems relational databases, and routing protocols are a plus.
- Working knowledge with IP and telephony test and troubleshooting equipment like Sniffers, Protocol Analyzers, DS-1/E1/STM test sets etc..
- Ability to work either independently or as part of customer oriented team.
- Excellent customer relations skills and the ability to interact with the customer at multiple levels.
- Ability to support CPC accounts in Chile, Argentina, Peru and other South American countries and the ability to travel with minimum notice.
- Fluent in both Spanish and English, both oral and written is required.
- Education and experience required (See above requirements) : A minimum of a BS in CS, EE or equivalent experience.
A successful candidate must have a minimum of 5+ years experience in a related position. Special Certification, Registrations: Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification or training is desired Physical Demands: May require travel.
