AT YOUR DOOR APPLIANCE SERVICE : CALYPSO WASHING MACHINE REPAIR. At Your Door Appliance Service
THE GAS MAN COMETH! Letting a gas engineer into her home to carry out the annual service of her central heating boiler has led to a Chorley Community Housing (CCH) tenant winning ?50 in shopping vouchers. Joyce Brown from Epping Place in Chorley received her prize from CCH’s Janet Hayes after keeping the appointment for her boiler to have its yearly safety check. Joyce is one of more than 2,500 tenants in Chorley with a gas appliance in her home. CCH are responsible for servicing and maintaining boilers and gas fires and getting access first time round is key to ensuring that everyone’s appliances are serviced on time. Janet Hayes said: ‘We have a legal responsibility to service all gas appliances once a year and the prize draw is a way of rewarding those tenants who grant us access at the first time of asking.’ As well as protecting residents from the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning the annual service ensures that gas fires and central heating boilers are running efficiently, meaning lower bills for tenants. More than four out of five CCH residents opened the door to the engineer on the first appointment last year. CCH Gas Manager Gary Heaton explained: ‘CCH tenants have responded magnificently to the message we’ve been giving which is – let us in first time and let us get the job done. Letting us in to do the gas service gives you a chance of winning ?50. More importantly, it means we can ensure that the appliances in your home are working efficiently and that you’re safe.” Photograph shows Joyce Brown (left) receiving her vouchers from CCH Neighbourhood Officer Janet Hayes.
