Education for Ministry

Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry (EfM) program provides people with the education to carry out that ministry. During the Service of Confirmation we ask God to "Renew in these your servants the covenant you made with them at Baptism. Send them forth in the power of the Spirit to perform the service you set before them." EfM offers an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian service. EFM helps you dig deeper into the Christian faith, studying the Bible, Church history and theological ideas and reflect on connecting faith with life experiences. Through study, prayer, and reflection, EfM groups move toward a new understanding of the fullness of God's kingdom.  Participants are given weekly assignments to study with the help of resource guides. Students are responsible for setting their own learning goals. In the seminars members have an opportunity to share their insights and discoveries as well as to discuss questions, which the study materials raise for them.

Our group will be starting again in September and it is open to anyone interested in deepening their understanding of their relationship with God.  If you have any questions you may talk with Martha, Priscilla Condon or any of the EFM graduates and students.  Graduates- Kathy Cunningham, Donna Ellis, Cheryl and Warren Josephson, Marilyn McGuane , Mary Murchison, Ida Swift, Page Swift,. Present students- Gayle Edwards, Kerry Ellis,  Barbara Grander, Leslie Hahn, Jean Ray, and Wayne Verry.

This is a non-denominational study program so feel free to invite anyone you think might be interested.
