Ride Etiquette
  • Be nice. Be considerate. Be courteous.
  • Ride Safe. No reckless moves.
  • Do NOT Litter !  Would you like to ride clean roads, or littered roads?
  • All levels of riders are WELCOME.  There's an unspoken informal grouping, so to speak.  By observation, we think riders are 'kinda' categorized into Group A,  Group B ("bagal"), and  Group C ("culelat") . You know who you are. We all start together, meet at halfway point together, and after the finish we eat together.
  • Routes are decided by consensus.  On long rides, it's OK for Group  C riders to U-turn earlier.
  • In flat rides, the "return" portion of the ride is considered a  "time-trial" (meaning, ride 'till you puke), so it's OK to attack and break-away. (But make sure you can back it up.)  In mountain rides, the section leading to the top of the mountain is considered the time-trial, while the return descend has a "no attacking" rule (for safety reasons).  But after the descent, if there's still a flat section remaining until the finish, it can be considered a time trial, so it's OK to attack then.
  • Someone gets a flat, stop. No attacking. (But if the flatted rider is a "Group A" rider, and there are other "Group A" riders have already pulled over too, then "Group C" riders can continue because they'll be caught later anyway.)
  • Someone crashes: Everyone stops, no exception.
  • Style points: On picnic days,  TdF's, and organized rides by other clubs, wear the Adobo kit as much as possible.  (Exception: If you woke up on the wrong side of the bed, and you think you'll be a jerk and cranky on that particular day, then wear something else instead of the Adobo uniform, so the rest of us won't suffer by association.)
  • Style points (continued):  When wearing the Adobo uniform, be a nice fellow. Don't be a jerk.  In fact, even if not in uniform, it's still a great rule to abide by, don't you think?  See very first rule above.

"Don't Miss The Tsismis"
BEFORE each ride, there's a lot of chatting and joking at the parking lot. It's one of the best aspects of group rides.

DURING the ride, there's camaraderie among competitors.

AFTER the ride, lunch is FUN! More Tsismis.  Full of joking and teasing. "Who got dropped. Who got stronger. Who got fatter. Who's the prettiest. Who's the ugliest."
