July 11 Meeting Notes and B-day Celebration Picnic
Thanks to Sinocruz Family, Usi Family, Juliet and Jesse Agrezor, Filbert Cabusbusan, Ryan Roldan, Borillo Family, Tim Claudio and the rest for providing food, made to order cake from Goldilocks, drinks, halo-halo, pastries, ice, extra table for our June and July B-Day Feast. Thanks for the food and to our picnic organizers lead by Dennis Gorospe for making this a success!
June B-Day Boys: Frank N, Luis P, Richard D, Tim C. July B-day Boys and Gal: Rosalie K, Felix P, Francis I, Jeff S, Jesse A, Julius S, Lito A, and Victor C. (just found out that it's also Oscar Sagalongos B-Day) - Happy B-day to all of you! I hope I didn’t miss anyone. We have BIG accomplishments to recognize! I hope I did not miss anyone. - Dennis Evangelista for completing the Aids/LifeCycle 7-day 545-mle Ride from SF to LA from May 31 to June 6. Website: http://www.aidslifecycle.org/ - June 21 - San Pedro Grand Prix was a success! Thanks to all who volunteered and raced. - CONGRATULATIONS to all the FINISHERS of the LA WHEELMEN GRAND TOUR. An ASTIG Qualifier! • DOUBLE METRIC CHALLENGE • HIGHLAND 200 MILERS • HIGHLAND 300 MILERS - Wilson Blas for finishing 2nd place at SCNCA Elite Cat 3 Criterium Championship held at San Luis Obispo last July 5, 2009
FUTURE RIDES and RACES: - Tour de Francis – August 15, 2009 Saturday. More information will be provided by Francis. - Giro de Barkada in August…. FIRST AID KITS - I really don’t know now who has the other first aid kits. I have one. Thanks to Jaimer Rodriguez for always checking with me. If I can’t account for the other kits, I will be forced to have new kits gathered again. I consider this as an important item for all of our rides. - Arnold Irving donated a box of gauge sponges. LA PINOY MAGAZINE by Bong Malabanan Photos and Interviews - A suggestion was made to have Bong pick pictures from our Picasaweb and add Jesse Agrezor’s name if used. Donations to Ryan for his upcoming organized race in Cebu. - Donations are ongoing, monetary, parts (new or unused), jerseys, etc are accepted until July 22. We have one week left before he travels. Thanks for your donations. ADDED NOTES: Ride Safety along Riverbed Bike Path – IMPORTANT (forgot to mention this in the meeting)
- Let’s keep in mind of safety for everyone else including other people on the bike path along River Bed Bike Path. I received a concern after everyone returned and I believe it’s a valid concern. We can all ride the same way when heading out in the morning or in other words make it a neutral ride all the way back to Liberty Park. August B-day Boys:
