Types of screwdriver bits. Plastic nut wrench. Using a pipe wrench. Types Of Screwdriver Bits
WISH I HAD'NT STOPPED HERE FALLS Wahkeena Falls in the Columbia Gorge area of Oregon. I had never shot here before so on a rare day off I decided to get up early this morning and head to the gorge. Stopped at the usual spots and decided to hike up here to shoot the falls. The parking lot was empty and everything seemed quiet and peaceful. I spent about 30 minutes shooting the falls and every so often I could glance down the canyon and see my car and the empty lot. Fine day, I thought. Hiked back down to the car and a couple cars rolled in and people were donning their hiking boots and everything seemed normal. Loaded up my gear in the back of the wagon and piled into the frontseat. This is where it got weird. The front windshield was covered with what looked like spider webs or some type of moisture, but it was dry not freezing etc. Then I noticed both mirrors had the same thing on them and the passenger window a little bit also. Next I backed up and headed toward Multnomah falls and I squirted the windshield with wiper fluid and discovered that my wiper blade had been removed WTF ! turned off the wipers and pulled off to the side to investigate, the junk on the windows I think was saliva (I hope) and the wiper blade I replaced when I got back to town. Also discovered on the passenger side window where the mirror is connected to the window some marks like a screwdriver had been poking around the plastic... Well this opened my eyes that nothing is safe and the human race has too many weird people with way too much time on their hands(drugs?) Anyway if your in the gorge BE CAREFUL. damaged dynamo shaft
Finally got the broken hub off the dynamo shaft. (Using a couple of screwdrivers and gently easing it off.) Evidence of previous owner abuse here, with marks on the dynamo and shaft where a stuck pulley had been cut off. This is probably the cause of my problem. There was a tiny amount of play on the shaft, the woodruff key was a bit loose too. I think this must have helped make a stress fracture on the inner pulley wheel. Just visible is a bent link on the carb, and a couple of meaty dents on the regulator cover, both caused by the pulley wheel 'exploding' at 50mph.
