Welcome to the ADHD and Development Lab at the UCLA Department of Psychology!  





About ADHD

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, also known as ADHD, is one of the most common mental disorders that develop in children. Children with ADHD have impaired functioning in multiple settings, including home, school, and in relationships with peers. If untreated, the disorder can have long-term adverse effects into adolescence and adulthood (for more information about ADHD, click here). 

About the Fernald Child Study Center

The Fernald Child Study Center is a research facility on campus committed to investigations of childhood behavior disorders. The Center contains several classrooms, an outdoor playground, and space for individual as well as family assessments. Studies at Fernald focus on such issues as social behavior, family factors, learning and achievement, and intervention strategies, all related to child psychopathology.
