Introduction / Welcome I would like to take this opportunity to formally welcome you all to the Addison United Soccer Club. We have many returning members and a few new members so I am very excited for this season. We have a very experienced team this year and I am looking forward to a very successful season. We are a division II team this year. We have an experienced team and we could probably compete well in division I, however we will get more matches over the season in division II and I feel that we would benefit from a strong season in the middle division. I am anticipating our competition to be very well coached and their players will have had a couple of seasons of playing together as a team. This will give them an advantage early on. I have organized a couple of events to help us prepare for the upcoming season as a team. We will start the season with session III at the field house. The session starts March 4th (approx.) and games will be on Wednesdays starting at 4, 5 or 6 PM. I will also look into getting us some gym time to practice on Saturdays. Our first practice would be on Saturday March 1st. More details to follow as we get closer to the start of the season. For those of you who don’t know me I will give you a bit of my background. I started playing soccer in Kindergarten. I proceeded to play soccer whenever it was offered through high school. I played some intramural soccer during college and then I stopped playing for a number of years. 6 years ago when my daughter showed an interest in playing Kindergarten soccer I decided to start coaching. I also discovered that I still enjoyed playing so I joined in pick-up soccer in Vergennes and Middlebury. I have been playing league soccer in Shelburne and I have been coaching at every opportunity since. I play forward and I am a strong advocate for attacking soccer. I am now the Director for the New Haven Soccer Club, the captain of the Goodrich Soccer Club and I coach for Addison United U12 girl’s soccer, both indoor and outdoor soccer. I have a great love for the sport and I want to share my love for soccer with you and your children. I will be assisted this season by Kim Callahan and Kyra Wilson. Kim will be the assistant coach. Kim will help me with running practices, organizing matches and general coordination. Kyra will be working with our team as the personal trainer. Kyra will be helping the team with warm-ups, cool-downs, stretches and physical fitness drills. RosterI would like to take this opportunity to share our unofficial team roster with you. This is our first step to getting to know each other. We have a total of 16 very talented players.

kellan91@myfairpoint.net | Practice ScheduleAs I mentioned previously, practices will start February 22nd, in the New Haven Gym. Practices will be on Sundays (3-5 on the 22nd, 2-4 March 1st through the end of April).
As soon as the weather clears up we will move to outdoor practices. We will practice on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 – 6:00. We will spend the first hour practicing techniques and we will close every session with a scrimmage to help us put into practice our new and improved skills. We will practice at Ferrisburgh Elementary School. A team calendar will be set up again to help keep track our season organized. Game ScheduleI have not yet received an official schedule, however I was able to get the below dates from the Vermont Soccer League website. I believe that this is fairly close to final, but please don’t carve it into stone. I will send out an “official” schedule as soon as I receive it. In the mean time feel free to pencil these dates and times into your calendar.
Tournament DetailsI am very excited to have our team participate in the Essex United Soccer Tournament for the third year in a row. Again this is preliminary information and I will provide an update when I have additional details.
