Yin-Yang Round in Garnet
Rhodolite Garnet (TZ). 2.05ct, 8.2x8.2x5.1mm. Yin-Yang Round Brilliant (Van Sant) A client specifically requested a Yin-Yang design for a larger stone. Fortunately, I was aware of this design by the late, great Fred Van Sant. But since I haven't cut it before, so I wanted to make a test run before committing to a larger piece. The process turned out rather harder than I expected. The design itself wasn't an issue, but keeping the two sides of the yin-yang symbol even while only polishing one side was tricky. (Polish requires two extra steps). But I think the overall effect is pretty cool & I think my client will be pleased. Now the question is whether or not to polish both sides... but that's up to the client.

Me in a thrifted dress and thrifted hoodie top. I love pink and this is one of my favorite jackets. The dress material is great because it's a lightweight stretchy cotton blend, but heavy enough for fall and even winter with tights underneath. the sandals are second-hand courtesy of my son S-bop, who at age 12 has outgrown them and now has feet bigger than mine! I was going to put them in the bag to drop off at Goodwill then decided to keep them for myself! It's going to be 86 degrees today here. When I took the pic earlier this morning it was still kinda cool though, hence the hoodie. Jewelry - big faux silver hoops I got from my daughter, who couldn't fit/use them anymore after she gauged her ear piercings big.
