President Becky McDonah called the meeting to order at 10:20 a.m. at the home of Marla Hattabaugh in Scottsdale, AZ.  She mentioned the  Need  for new officers, specifically President, Vice President, Exhibition Coordinator.   The office of Treasurer is a State office and held by Frank Wicks from the Tucson Chapter.   There is also a need for someone to keep the website current as well as the blogspot.

We talked about the position of Jury Chairman as well as Scholarship Chairman, that award being dependent on the amount of Money Market funds.

There's information about  ADC Workshops listed on the website.   Two workshops will be held in Tempe at the ASU Metals Studio.

Membership information is available on the website and access should be easier than last year.   Members can use the site for listing individual information as well as their own website  (http://www.azdesignercraftsmen.org)

After more discussion, Lauren Diggs volunteered to be Vice President in charge of Communications - which means she'll keep the website/blogspot current and post information about activities.    Ann Thayer indicated she would be an Apprentice President and help Becky with planning and implementing events.   Becky has access to a program that allows notices to be sent to Special Interest groups in ADC or the whole mailing list.   Katie Poterala will take on the responsibility of being the Graphic Designer  for postcards.   She'll work on the Exhibitions Committee as well.  Several people said they would help with installation  of exhibitions.   There is an Exhibit set for Mesa Art Center in 2010, from May-August.   She hopes to also continue to have the Craftsmanship 2010 exhibit at Gallery 100 at ASU.

There was some discussion about the Jury Committee but nothing much was decided.   We also talked about the Scholarship Committee and the funding from the Mary Soule Account.   Becky will handle details about starting this program again.

The airport has an exhibit space that may be available for an ADC Exhibit.   Lanee Eller is the Coordinator for all three terminals.   Tempe Art Center has exhibit space, too.   Ann mentioned that the Botanical Garden has exhibit space.

Betsy Douglas said she would be willing to call some members to remind them of specific meetings and to invite them to attend.   She would possibly set up a phone tree so other people would be involved.   She suggested we hand out minutes to people who pick up their work from the current exhibit to encourage meeting participation.

Joan Dulla talked about her teaching position at Arrowmont during the summer.   Victoria Altepeter was her assistant for the two week period.

Lynette Andreasen attended the school for four weeks.   Joan said she'd be willing/happy to give a lecture about how she operates her booth at the American Craft Council shows.   The details would be valuable information for students who hope to participate in this type of major craft show.   Ann Thayer said she would be willing to discuss Street Fairs including details about applying, setup/takedown, selling, networking, etc etc.

Lynette and Katie will share a booth at the Mesa Art Center Christmas show.

Becky passed out postcards for the upcoming Intercollegiate Metals Exhibit at Gallery 100.   Students from metals/jewelry programs in schools across the country will exhibit as well as ASU students.

Everyone thanked Becky for saving ADC.  Her being willing to be president enabled the group to continue operating.   She in turn, thanked everyone for volunteering to help with various projects.

Meeting adjourned at 12:l5 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,

Marla Hattabaugh, Secretary
