ACT LoneStar Speaks at Senate Transportation Hearing
(May 5th Houston) The State Senate Transportation and Homeland Security Committee convened at the George R. Brown Convention center in Houston. ACT LoneStar was invited to testify on recommended future clean air and alternate transportation legislation. Chapter President Dan Dickerson spoke on carpool fringe benefits, senior mobility and various legislation that ACT was actively supporting. Dan also took the time to recognize the aggressive steps that are already being taken in the right direction and should be used as a model on a national level. UT Austin Transportation Programs and Houston Metro Vanpool Programs were just a few commended.

CUTR NetConference: Creative Excellence for Successful Employer Programs

On March 25, 2010,  the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) and the National Center for Transit Research (NCTR) at the University of South Florida held a netconference on Creative Excellence for Successful Employer Programs.  The 74 minute streaming media recording includes about 20 minutes of questions and answers. Questions were fielded from an estimated 175 people attending the presentation.

The Lone Star Chapter of the Association for Commuter Transportation now has a new home.  As always, you can access this website at:  http://www.act-lonestar.org/.  However, the new hosting by Google Sites will allow us to share more and better content with all of our members.
