HOW TO COOK ROAST CHICKEN IN THE OVEN - DUAL FUEL RANGE COOKERS - FAMILY COOKOUT. How To Cook Roast Chicken In The Oven
Roast chicken I know, it's not the most colourful plate, rather colour coordinated and I wouldn't have taken a picture of it if it hadn't been for J. who said maybe people can see how nice it tasted ;-) and it did taste very nice! Recipe: Roast chicken for two, three maybe four people one chicken, four leeks, four carrots, one parsnip, half a celeriac, two cloves of garlic, peppercorns, one bay leaf, one and a half pints of vegetable stock, salt, pepper, paprika, one red chilli, rub salt and pepper into the chicken and sprinkle with paprika. place into the middle of a roasting pan. add the chopped vegetables (I usually chop the vegetables I want to serve with the chicken in bigger pieces and chop the rest really fine so that they are easier to mash for my gravy later), peppercorns, bay leaf, garlic etc. then cover it with the vegetable stock and place the roasting pan onto the middle shelf in the oven, gas mark 5 for an hour. my potatoes go into the oven at the same time (bottom shelf). I just wash and dry them, cut them into chunks and place them onto an oiled baking tray, sprinkle with freshly ground pepper and some dried herbs. after an hour I swap the chicken with the potatoes so they get nice and brown and crispy. the chicken is ready when you can slightly turn the leg and clear juices run out. for the gravy, I mash all the finely chopped vegetables through a funnel sieve, sometimes add more salt and cook it for about 5-8 minutes on the biggest flame (I cook with gas). I thicken my gravy with potato starch. How To: Beer Can Chicken--Step 1
I find this the easiest and tastiest way to roast a chicken. Recipe: 1 chicken 1 can of beer seasoning of your choice Chicken holders are sold at Menard's, Wal-mart, and many other stores, and the dish is just your standard square (9"x9") baking pan. You will also need a digital food thermometer to test for doneness (approx. $10 but way cheaper than food poisoning). Step 1: Lay out everything you will need. I displayed 3 easy-to-find seasoning mixes: Country Bob's Seasoned Salt, Blackened Cajun Seasoning, and Montreal Seasoning (for steak or chicken). Turn on the oven to pre-heat. 350F is recommended, but I set my oven at 385F because it cooks at LEAST 35 degrees cooler than you set it for. REMOVE one of the oven's racks at this time, before you get it hot! Remember, there's going to be a chicken standing in there.
