My aim over the next 10 weeks is to improve my general fitness, strength and physique, and given the lack of a personal trainer to motivate me and shout at me that I'm slacking, I'm recruiting u, the Flickr public, to do that job for me :P Have basically plagarised this idea from my mate Rob whose posting his running times on FB for scrutiny purposes. The hope is that by having to post pics of my skinny body up here each week, it'll force me to do that extra rep, run that extra km, or eat that extra 1000cal :P Am also going to post my fitness routine and times, as well as weight (which I hate doing as u'll discover further down) to add to the scrutiny element. Cycling: Tue, Wed, Thur to and from work- 7.2miles each way, best time 26min08secs (thats currently my best time overalland I maintain would have been quicker if i didnt get stuck behind a chuffing lorry!!) Weights: Mon, Fri, Sat did my weights circuit. Consists of 8 reps of the following lifts, doing 4 sets, with a 16kg bar bell (I know its lite, but look at me :P plus this isnt designed to be done with big weights anyway...bigger guys would probs do it with 20kg bar) -Bent-Over Row -Upright Row -Military Press -Static Lunge (each Leg) -Squat -Staight Leg Deadlift -Deadlift ....Rest and repeat. Runs: None- room for improvement me thinks! Current Weight (this is the bit I hate): 60kg (for reference I'm 5ft11....which means I have a BMI score of 18.4...rudimentary I know...but it does show that I'm about 8kg underweight by those standards). If this works hopefully by week 10 I'll be on my way to 70kg and feeling fit and healthy with it....wish me luck :)

I love the simplicity of black and white. This dress was just ?10 in the Wallis sale and I have worn it twice in the last two weeks. Although it is a summer dress there are so many possibilities for the winter too. Today was a very long day. After a day working in the prison I had to race home and get changed before dashing out to Liverpool city centre for the monthly Train 2000 PR Workshop I lead. I have said it before but I'll say it again. I love working for Train 2000. Founded in Liverpool in 1996, Train 2000 is a social enterprise which offers free support, advice and training to help women make the move into self-employment. If it wasn't for Train 2000 I would never have had the courage to leave a staff job and pursue a freelance career. I have had so many wonderful experiences since I became self-employed. Being your own boss can be very scary but Train 2000 made sure I was well prepared and able to adapt. They asked me back to present a PR workshop - coaching small business owners how to do their own PR. Last night I worked with a marketing manager, wedding planner, personal fitness trainer, Stag and Hen Night organiser and the owner of a dance studio. All of these women had wonderful tales to tell about their journey into self-employment and if I can, in my own very small way, help their businesses to be a success then what better job could you wish for?
