Active Care Physical Therapy is the sport rehabilitation provider of choice for William Jessup University Athletics. Stephen has been the Head Athletic Trainer for WJU since they moved the university campus (formerly San Jose Christian College) to Rocklin in 2003. As the head Athletic Trainer, Stephen coordinates athlete physicals, provides athletic training services on campus, and provides clinical rehabilitation for all WJU athletes. Currently Stephen and Monica Zimmer-Vargas, ATC, coordinate and provide sports medicine care for WJU athletic events and practices, and provide clinical evaluation and care of athletic injuries. Beginning in the fall of 2008, Active Care Physical Therapy has been the on campus provider of athletic training and injury care for Woodcreek High School in Roseville. Having both worked in regions of the country where there is more emphasis on providing athletic training care for high school athletics, Stephen and Monica are committed to providing not only on site injury care and game coverage for Woodcreek High School, but are also available for evaluations of Woodcreek High School athletic injuries at Active Care Physical Therapy during regular business hours. Both feel that waiting to have an injury evaluated is an unnecessary stress for parents and coaches, and detrimental to the success and wellfare of these young athletes. Their focus is on providing efficient care and guidance for athletes, and piece of mind for their parents, so they can return quickly and safely to their sport.
Active Care Physical Therapy is located within 100 yards of the Roseville location of California Family Fitness, and utilizes the heated pool at CFF for Aquatic Therapy sessions. The pool and spa are outdoors, but are heated year round. Aquatic Therapy can be conducted in either the pool or spa on an individual appointment basis only. No Aquatic Therapy "classes" are offered.
