At Active Care Physical Therapy we are committed to providing not only on site injury care and game coverage for games and events, but we are also available for Acute Athletic Injury Evaluations at Active Care Physical Therapy during regular business hours for all athletes with minor acute athletic injuries.
Both Stephen and Monica feel that waiting to have an injury evaluated is an unnecessary stress for parents and coaches, and detrimental to the success and wellfare of these young athletes. Their focus is on providing efficient care and guidance for athletes, and piece of mind for their parents, so they can return quickly and safely to their sport.
During an Acute Athletic Injury Evaluation, we will examine the injury to make sure further diagnostic testing or a physician visit is not warranted. We will advise on immediate care, practice and game restrictions, and guide the athlete in a graded and safe return to sports participation. If you desire, we can contact coaches and schools to advise them of the actions and restrictions recommended.
These Evaluations are appropriate for all ages, from the youth sports participant to the adult weekend warrior.
Fees for Athletic Injury Assessments are $75 for the Evaluation and any follow up treatment visits, will not be billed to insurance, and do not require a physician referral. However we ask that any athletes wanting an injury evaluation performed call ahead for available appointment times. Minors must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
Should you have any question about the severity of an injury, or if the athlete is in serious pain, has a visible deformity, numbness, or tingling in the area, we advise seeking medical care from your physician or the local emergency department.
