As part of our philosophy at Active Care Physical Therapy to attempt to prevent injuries, we are offering the opportunity for all local athletes and teams to have a Pre-Sport Assessment.
The purpose of the Pre-Sport Assessment is to help the athlete achieve their own maximum performance and success in sports participation. The pre-sport assessment does not take the place of a physical exam, but is a tool used to help the athlete prepare for their particular sports’ activities and demands, and achieve success through sport.
The Pre-sport Assessment includes:
The athlete receives a summary of their individual assessment, and recommendations for pre-season preparation and training, including instruction in the performance of any stretches or exercises recommended, and cross training options.
Old or ongoing injuries will be assessed with recommendations made by our sports medicine staff to help avoid further injury and/or aid in injury recovery and return to sports participation.
Team Assessments include a summary for the teams’ coach that includes recommendations for team conditioning, stretching and strengthening, as well as options for cross training or activity modification as needed.
These assessments will be provided on an individual basis by appointment, or for an entire team as a group, during 1 session. Cost for an individual athlete is $35, and $25 for each athlete assessed during a team session (5 or more athletes). Team sessions should be arranged through the coach or parent representative.
Contact Steve Fuzie or Shana Urban at Active Care Physical Therapy to schedule assessments, or with any questions, at 916-797-2273.
The Pre-Sport Assessment is no appropriate for acute athletic injuries. For acute athletic injuries, come in for an Athletic Injury Evaluation and follow up treatment. |
