There's some great illustrations by 2nd graders in the picture dictionaries above.
In the library with Mrs. Seddon on Dec. 3, 2nd graders brainstormed some winter and holiday words. On Dec. 17, the students got to illustrate a picture of their word and write a sentence or two about it. Then they determined the order the words should be put in the dictionary -- alphabetical order, of course!
~ These dictionaries were not completely edited for correct grammar, spelling, capatilization, punctuation, etc. The primary learning objective was to have students practice ABC order.
~ Not all 2nd grade students' work is included in these online albums of the picture dictionaries. At enrollment, parents have to sign paperwork to give or decline permission to the school for their student's work/picture/name to be posted to the Internet. If your child's work is not posted here, but you now want to give the school permission to do so, please stop by the school to update your paperwork.
