Excellent breakfasts, using organic and locally-sourced produce as far as possible. The proprietor is also a mosaic artist who trained in 6th century Byzantine mosaic making in Ravenna Italy. She runs beginners workshops (with or without guest accommodation) from the Acorns Guest House premises, and arranges master mosaic courses in Ravenna, Italy (guided or unguided).
Mercia Marina and Tea Rooms (5mins), Co-op Store, hairdresser, deli/coffee shop, pharmacy, post office, sweet shop, craft shop, florist and beauty salon and 3 food pubs all 2mins walk. Just 25 mins off J28 M1 & East Midlands Airport and close to Rail Station for Derby (12mins) or Birmingham (30mins).
Donington Park (20mins), Toyota and Repton School (2 mins), Rolls Royce (15 mins), Derby University (15 mins), and major Peak District tourist & leisure attractions all within easy reach: Chatsworth House, Kedleston Hall, Calke Abbey, Sudbury Hall and other NT properties. Drop off and pick up service to EMA airport and Donington Park.
A great base for Mercia Marina, events at Donington, walking or cycling in the Peak, riding at the local riding school or fishing on the River Trent.
