  • Birkenstock Orthopadie GmbH & Co. KG is a shoe manufacturer headquartered in Vettelscho?, Germany. The company sells Birkenstock, a German brand of sandals and other shoes notable for their contoured cork and rubber footbeds, which conform somewhat to the shape of their wearers' feet.
  • (Birkenstocks) These sandals were all the rage in the early 70's. They are shaped to your foot and toes with a fair amount of support. Unfortunately they're not for everyone, as I could never get a pair that felt right for my feet.

15/365
15/365
Today's attempt at a 365 photo was a disaster. It all started with an excursion to a closed city park's playground. I was determined to go and hang upside down on the playground and say "We have too few possibilities to hang upside down in adulthood." By the time I made it to the playground, I was freezing and couldn't haul my 23-year-old butt up to the bar (In defense, the bar is about a foot and a half above my head) So, instead of getting my big butt over the bar, I walked alllllllll the way back to this creek and thought I'd get a nice calm shot. Upon sitting down on the rock wall (which I promptly discovered was covered in fencing stuff for retainment) I ripped my favorite jeans which were actually starting to fit right now that I'm gaining weight from getting pregnant. Ok. I sat...too far away from the camera for the remote to work. I got up and moved the camera closer and walked back. As I was approaching the teeny tiny little bank, I slipped and one leg went this way and one leg went that way and my brand new (okay, not brand new, but I got them last month!) awesome clog (this isn't like all my other shoes and bought at payless! My mom got them for me at the birkenstock store in her town.) went flying into the creek. So, I hurt my leg and my butt and scratched my arm on the stupid fence/rock/wall, split my pants and possibly ruined my favorite shoes, probably frightened my baby and STILL did not get my shot because it was STILL too far away. Giving up, I snatch up my gear in a huff and begin trekking back to my car and realized I'd forgotten my tripod bag back at the playground. So, I walked alllll the way over there again and found a baseball and got my tripod bag and huffed back to my car freezing. By the time I got to my car, I was completely red and my hands were too cold to work the keys, buttons, anything else. So. HERE, Day 15. All you get is this lousy baseball.

Monkey spent five minutes rubbing against my Birkenstocks clogs -- possibly trying to overwrite the scent-signature of Miss Elizabeth.
