Less than three years ago, the Combating Autism Act of 2006 was signed into law. (http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s109-843), Since that time, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services created the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) in 2007.
Currently, they cite the following as their mission:
This relatively young committee (not yet in operation for two years) represents a wonderful step in the right direction, and should be an invaluable asset to this growing population. |
