Started Dogs

We have numerous started dogs available throught the year. We start imprinting work with them as young as 8 weeks of age. They are socialized, introduced to water, guns, decoys, wings, and tall grass by the age of 5 months. Thier retrieve drive is increased almost daily. We start with cut grass and introduce them to tall grass as thier hunt drive increases. By never letting them fail we can increase thier confidence and hunt drive to extreme levels. With a slow and steady approach and lots of support we consistently produce top quality started dogs throughout the year. Most of our dogs are sold on a started puppy/dog level and come back for finishing work.

We try to make everything a game so that we can keep our training on a fun level. Some dogs get over anxious and require a little more work than others. These will be your very high drive and hard hunting dogs. Some dogs will work on a slower pace, become super consistent, and be extremely easy to handle. I like to have their obedience on full hand signals and their retrieve command done with a soft voice so the firm voice will be effective when it is needed.

My goal with a started dog is to try and make an all around great companion. A great family pet, fishing buddy, enjoyable addition to your household and of course a really good duck hunting partner is what we strive to produce. As soon as we recieve a deposit on your started puppy/dog the sooner the custom training starts. As soon as the dog is finished with drive and obedience work we start working with the dog to match your specific needs. Crate training, boat riding, platform retrieves, thick cover, truck loading, and numerous other custom things can be introduced and trained into your dog. I look forward to hearing from you.

Due to the increased demand for our puppies, started puppies, and started dogs we are having a difficult time keeping puppies past the 6 month age to do started dog work with. We are recieving lots of deposits with custom contracts on our young dogs. If you are interested in a started dog between 8 and 10 months old we will need a deposit on one of our younger started pups.

There will be numerouse started dogs to choose from for 2010 fall season. They will be ready

for delivery from Late September to mid October. The sooner we recieve a deposit the sooner

we will be able to start your dog's custom training to fit your hunting situation.
