What to expect from a good massage session

Before Massage

It is a good habit to have your session confirmed at least 24 hours before your appointment. Please take note of the no call/no show policy under “Membership and Pricing”.

It is a market practice that your session will be charged based on your appointment time, so we encourage you to arrive early to be relaxed, to maximize your session. We recommend clients to arrive10 to 15 minutes early, especially that first appointment to fill up the Forms.

On Massage Day

Welcome to our comfortable waiting room!

Relax and help yourself to the resources available, while you await your session.  If it is your first session, please pick up and fill out our Client Intake Form and a Health History Questionnaire where you record any medical history, past/present injuries and other physical conditions we should be made aware of. You also need to read the CAM Bill of Rights and return it to us signed.

Your massage therapist will greet and review your Forms with you, to understand the reason for your visit, your current physical condition, any contraindications, noting any specific areas where you are experiencing pain, or would like addressed during your massage. A treatment plan will be formulated with you in mind.

Your massage therapist will then bring you to the treatment room.  There are professional body cushions available, at your request. We have additional pillows, neck & leg bolsters, eye masks, ear plugs, hair bands, socks, etc., if required.

Your massage therapist will leave the room and wait outside if you need to disrobe. Some clients prefer to completely disrobe to get on the massage table, while some remain partially clothed.  Do so at your own comfort level.

If disrobed, you will lie on the massage table, under the top sheet and a blanket. Your massage therapist will give you sufficient time for this process.  Just call out when you are ready, or the massage therapist will knock on the door to ask if you are ready before entering your room.

If it is a Shiatsu session, you can stay fully-clothed on the massage table or mat.  We have comfortable loose clothes for you to change into, at your request.

You stay fully-clothed for a chair massage.

During Massage

You will always be draped during your massage session on a table. Your massage therapist will only uncover the part of your body to be worked on ensuring modesty is mutually respected at all times. There will be relaxing music playing to bring you to a pleasant, tranquil setting, unless you request for silence. Extra blankets or the temperature of the room can be moderated to your comfort level, if required.  Our high quality massage crème, and oil used during your treatment will be hypo-allergenic and fragrant-free.  If you are interested in essential oils or aromatherapy, this has to be decided during the intake session.

Please alert the massage therapist at any point during your session if a technique, stroke or pressure used is uncomfortable. Make sure your session is most effective by not being tensed up. Practicing slow, deep breathing will help all the way. Depending on your specific needs and treatment plan, your massage therapist will either perform a customized massage, or focus on the specific parts of your body that you have requested. Always communicate with your massage therapist whenever necessary, to make your session totally enjoyable and fruitful.

After Massage

To end your massage on a warm note, you will be offered optional hot towels to awaken your senses as you prepare to be grounded from your session. Your massage therapist will leave the treatment room to get drinking water for you, and wait for you at the reception. Please take your time to roll on your side slowly, landing both feet firmly on the ground when you get off the massage table/mat.

Relax in the waiting room for a while, and help yourself to the water cooler. You are encouraged to drink more than usual immediately after your session to stay hydrated and flush toxin out after the bodywork.

If you have some time, please do not hesitate to fill up our Feedback Form.
