This picture was taken by my mom and I wanted to share his success with my flickr friends. Dale Moore - my cousin - receiving his award from the Department of Geography and Geology - Ogden College of Science and Engineering from WKU. Dale Moore's story is one of diligence and success. He worked a variety of factory jobs after high school, earned an Associates Degree in Accounting, then entered WKU to pursue a geology degree. At WKU, Dale was an active participant on a project studying the use of radiogenic isotope signatures in igneous rocks. He travelled to Central Washington University for two weeks of intensive training in using the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) to analyze lavas from Chile and mafic and felsic dikes from the Cowhole Mountains in the Mojave Desert. He presented results of this research at the KY Academy of Science and WKU Student Research conferences. Dale plans to work as a professional geologist for a time before continuing his education with a graduate degree. Presenting the award to Dale is Dr. Andrew Wulff. Dale is on the left. We are so proud!!!
