Silk Placemat

A placemat is a protective table pad usually made of paper, plastic or cloth for restaurants and households. Asian-style placemats may feature thin slats of bamboo or colourful beads. The term is derived from the mat being put at a person's "place" (chair) at a table.

Karolines Placemats

I love the vintage red and white, period. It just reminds me of when I was a kid and people would bring a table cloth in these colors out on a picnic... Also, when I was a kid, a special Food brand was "Karolines Kokken" ( Karoline's Kitchen ) and their mascot was the cow on the picture... Her name, of course, was Karoline.. Yeah, I was teased when I was a kid, but today I think Karoline the Cow is a hero :) hehe I always wanted something with her for my kitchen, but all I could find was a small picture and now these lovely placemats :) "Karolines Kokken" still makes food, cook books etc., but they no longer use the cow as their logo/ mascot.. Sad, really.

Placemat and coasters

I made a placemat and coaster for my girlfriend using prefelt made from merino and added silk, plotulopi, curls and twists made from merino, and merino?sil, merino/bamboo
