Pure Linen Another thrift store find from the other day. These two kitchen towels, or table runners, or very large napkins!, measure 36 by 15 1/8 inches. The short ends are machine stitched with a small hem. The long edges are selvages, meaning that the fabric was woven on a loom only that wide. I believe that these are Irish linen, at least 50 years old. Traditionally, housewives bought a length of such fabric and hemmed towels, as needed. My cost? 50 cents. White Linen
