Highest position: 290 on Sunday, April 5, 2009 In my photo last week, some people probably thought that I was a student going back to class ... but I'm actually the teacher XD As a kid, I always told my parents that the last two professions I would consider taking would be (a) a doctor and (b) a teacher. I didn't want to be a doctor because I can't stand the sight of blood, and I didn't want to teach because I didn't want to deal with students who have no interest in education but are forced to study by their parents ... plus I have a fear of public speaking But apparently, teaching is "in my blood", LOL. My parents are both university Professors ... and my grandma was an elementary school teacher. I decided to accept the university's offer when I graduated in 2006 because I planned on getting a masters degree in the future. I didn't want to study again right after graduation, I wanted to experience working first. My mom suggested that I teach because staying in the academic community will make it easier for me when I start studying again. Although I was reluctant to teach at first, I soon discovered that I loved it! I love preparing for my class, I love sharing new things with my students and I love exchanging stories with my colleagues about some of the strange students we encounter in our classes. Every day that I teach I feel like I've accomplished something wonderful. Sadly, this will be my last semester teaching. I'll be taking up my masters next semester (hopefully) ... so it's back to being a student for me.
