GUNDAM giant menko card
GUNDAM giant menko card
Back in the early 80s there were lots of fun, unusual merchandise for anime properties. We usually only got toys, models and books here in the US. Japanese "Menko" cards - thick cardboard trading cards - were something I rarely saw. They featured great art of a bygone era, and lots of little icons added on for games like 'rock-paper-scissors' you could play with the cards. They also came various sizes, from smaller than traditional western trading cards to these giant, tea-saucer sized cards! I've seen ads for giant HARLOCK ones, and other subjects. I'd love to have a couple of those in this format, or MACROSS, ORGUSS or DOUGRAM!
