Freebie sites give away gifts for completing offers (such as free trials, one time
buys, ect.) and then referring your friends, family, or others to the
site.
This
is what a Freebie Site is and how it works!
When
most people think freebies, they think of Trainn. Transcendent
Innovations (Trainn) is by far the leader in the freebie industry. Trainn has deals
with over 100 companies to have their product shown on the site. Trainn
is paid every time someone signs up for a trial period or buys a product. They
also make a commission off future sales. They make a lot of money this
way. To encourage people to sign up through their sites, they offer
prizes such as an Xbox 360, an Ipod, or just straight up cash! So here is how
it works:
You
sign up and complete your offers. Trainn gets paid for this. You
then turn around and refer 5 people to Trainn. They all sign up and
complete their required offer. Now from just you signing up, Trainn has 6
people completing offers and making them money. The bigger the prize, the
larger the number of referrals! Trainn makes more money, you collect a bigger
prize. So lets take YourIpodTouch4Free.com as an example.
You
complete all your requirements and find 5 people to complete an offer.
Now you have enough referrals to order your 8 GB Ipod Touch! Your account
will then be screened by Trainn (to ensure you didn't make fraud accounts or
cheat in any other way). Once that is through, your account will show that you
have been accepted and your item will be mailed shortly there after. It
should arrive in 5-10 days!
Trainn
sites are some of the best - especially for new users - because of their ease of
use, good offer selection, and legitimacy.
Please take care of the following with respect to the Freebie\Trainn stuff:
- Trainn only allows you to complete
each of their sites once.
- It is recommended that you choose the
referral based option, because it will take a lot of offers to get your
gift otherwise.
- For freebie sites in general, NEVER
- sign up to a site more than once,
- try to be your own referral,
- use prepaid gift cards, or
- try to scam the company in any way, and
- follow the terms and conditions,
- keep track of offers you have done, and
- be careful while giving credits (at GetRef), raise a support ticket to confirm your referral's green status.
Some more Trainn TIPS:
(Courtesey: JRNelson @ GetRef forum http://getref.proboards27.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=9203) - The cell phones offers may look 'free'
but they actually charge you $10 per text! It cost me $60 to do it. Please read
the Terms of service with any offer you do.
-
READ THE TERMS OF SERVICE ON EVERY OFFER! And in the event that you do not like
the product and want to cancel, make sure you say the words "I want to
cancel everything I am signed up for through you" when calling them
Because in some of the terms of service (TOS from now on) they will sign you up
for 1 or 2 other offers for $15 a month or $30 a month. And some of the more
untrustworthy sites will not cancel unless you specify. Once again: READ THE TERMS OF SERVICE!!!
-
Do not spam your referral link anywhere! If someone gets fed up with you doing
it and sends trainn an email with your referral link saying that you posted it
all over, you will get your account put on hold and you will NOT get your
prize. So do not do this!
-
If you expect to do Ref for Ref with all sorts of random people that are new,
expect to get Scammed. I have had it happen to me twice, so learn from my
mistakes and at least use GetRef or some other type of protection where you can
get compensation if they do not follow through. What I recommend is that the
person who is greening first, request $15 to be paid via paypal from the second
person. So if you don't go green, they will just open up a paypal dispute and
get the money back. If you do go green, and they decide to try to scam you, you
get $15 which is enough to buy credits here to get a legit ref.
-
If it seems fishy (ref for ref or anything else) it is probably either a scam
or is illegal is some way. If you have a question, post it here and others on
the board will help walk you through it.
-
Email yourself your link. If you have you link handy in an online email (such
as gmail, hotmail, ect.) then you can easily access it and not have to worry
about IP's conflicting. It really shouldn't matter but so many people freak out
about it that this would just be easier.
-
Just because the offer is cheap, doesn't mean you should do it! If there is a
trusted company (i.e. Netflix, gamefly, blockbuster, ect.) you should spend the
extra $5 and do that. The shady offers that are 'free' should be put off until
you don't have any more offers to do ( I really have lost $100 while trying to
save $5....what a steal...NOT)
