On the slopes of the Alpe della Luna

A beautifully restored Tuscan farmhouse with pool - sleeps 8-10.

Done touristy Tuscany and Chiantishire?  Why not come to this unspoilt northeastern corner of the province, where it adjoins Umbria and Emilia-Romagna? Here in Aboca, in the Alpe della Luna, classic Tuscan serenity meets the rugged terrain of the upper Tiber valley.  In the nearby market town of Sansepolcro, the many restaurants and bars are frequented by the local people.  Join them for the passegiata, an evening stroll along the main street, which mingles young and old, grandparents, teenagers, parents and babies. Take a walk in the woods near the house or sample the delights of the nearby medieval hill towns like Urbino, Perugia, Assisi (and yes you can always do the more touristy places).

The Resurrection by Piero della Francesca is in Sansepolcro's Museo Civico.  Aldous Huxley called this  the greatest painting in the world.  Trivia fact - Because of this, British artillery officer Anthony Clarke stopped the shelling of Sansepolcro (and has a street named after him).

A view of the house from across the valley( click for larger image). Situated on the slopes of the Alpe dell Luna, it is 7 kms to Sansepolcro and walking distance to our local restaurant, L'Osteria In Aboca.
