Project Area: Embedded Systems

Project Assigned: PC Based 89C52 Programmer.

Project Description: PC based 89C52 Programmer. It is used to burn Intel Hex file to 89C52 microcontroller. The Programmer (Hardware) is connected to serial port of a Windows based PC. The microcontroller (89C52) is inserted in a socket provided in the programmer(hardware). The Hex file generated after compilation of the code for 89C52 is transferred to the microcontroller through the serial port of PC with the help of a software written in C language.

Development Tools Used: Cad Star for Windows, KEIL compiler for 89C52microcontroller, Universal Programmer, C language.

Other Code Developed: This Code written in C and Assembly Language, is used to display Date and Time at the visual terminal of VMUX, a product developed by PCL for Northern Railways.

Training II

Duration: 6 Weeks (July - August 2003)

Location: Punjab Communications Ltd. Mohali

Work: During 6 week training at Punjab Communications Ltd. (PCL) Mohali, I worked in the Project VMX 0100, developed by PCL for Northern Railways. VMX 0100 is a highly flexible Primary E1 Add Drop multiplexer. It provides 30 Channels to users located at different locations for both Voice and Data Communication.

Academic Project Developed

Household Appliance controller through PC: The Project was submitted to Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information, Dist. Nawanshahar in the partial fulfillment of B.Tech Degree (ECE).

Introduction: The Project implements the interfacing of Household appliances with PC. It provides the facility to turn ON and OFF Household appliances directly from the PC.The Project can also be used in an industry to turn ON and OFF machines from a control room.

Hardware: The Hardware consists of a very simple electronics circuit connected to PC through the Parallel Port. The Appliance can be connected to this hardware and can be turned ON and OFF with just the click of a key.

Software: The software for the project was developed in C language, with a very simple user interface.
