The Planning Wing of the Ministry of Education is headed by a Chief (Planning). There are two Branches and six Sections there in. Each Branch is headed by a Deputy Chief and the Sections are headed by Senior Assistant Chief/Assistant Chief. I'm posted here in the Planning Section-4. The Section deals with as follows:

  • Making approval processing all the project proposals proposed by the Department of Technical Education, BANBEIS, Bangladesh Technical Education Board, Bangladesh Scouts, Bangladesh Girls Guide & National Curriculum & Text Book Board.

Bangladesh Planning Commission of the People's Republic of Bangladesh

 

The General Economic Division (GED) of Planning Commission in Bangladesh is the sole agency for preparing any kind of mid & long term planning of the country. The PRSP (Unlocking the Potentials) for Bangladesh was prepared by the GED. Presently the GED is fully engaged for formulation of the 6th Five Year Plan of Bangladesh. As an Assistant Chief my responsibility includes:

  • Conducting Consultation Meetings with the Head of the Ministries and Divisions for getting the priority of the respective Ministry/ Divisions in the 6th Five year Plan.
  • Providing necessary assistance to the Joint Chief for preparing the Perspective Planning.

'Establishment of Chittagong Central Jail ' project is one of the priority projects of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Chittagong is the second largest city of the country and the existing district jail was established one hundred and twenty five years back. The new central jail was proposed to accommodate a total of 2000 prisoners. Total estimated cost of the project is 690 Million Bangladeshi Taka. 'Community Based Work to Develop Child Protection Mechanisms' project

Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh

 

The UNICEF is funding for the 'Community Based Work to Develop Child Protection Mechanisms' project. The project aims to address the vulnerable children & their families who are in a risk to be trafficked to the UAE as Camel Jockeys. There was a bilateral MOU between the governments of the UAE and Bangladesh for stopping child-trafficking. The project addresses the issue with the help of three local NGOs (i.e. Bangladesh National Women Lawyers' Association, Dhaka Ahsania Mission & UDDIPON), the Ministry of Home Affairs is the mother implementing agency of the project. Total estimated cost of the project is 130 Million Bangladeshi Taka. Job responsibility as the Deputy Project Director is as follows:

 

  • Managing the Finance the project.
  • Managing the project activities.
  • Managing the manpower of the project.
  • Making report to the Ministry and as well as to the Implementation Monitoring & Evaluation Division.
  • Releasing fund to the partner NGOs.
  • Over all look after of the project.

Planning Section-2 covers all the Development Projects and Revenue Budget Financed Development Programs of the Prisons Department, Bangladesh Rifles, Bangladesh Coast Guard, Department of Immigration & Passport, Department of Narcotics Control and Department of Ansar & VDP. The Rural Development & Co-operative Division is one of the two divisions of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development & Co-operatives (LGRD). There are six Planning & Development Sections in the division to formulate, scrutinize, process for approval, monitoring of implementation & supervise the development projects. Planning & Development Section-5 covers all the Development Projects of Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB). Job responsibility of the Section Chief is as follows:

Ministry of Cultural Affairs of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh is responsible to promote and conserve the nation's culture and heritage in particular. it's another responsibility is to promote the tribal culture as well. There are three Planning Sections in the ministry to formulate, scrutinize, process for approval, monitoring of implementation & supervise the development projects along with the revenue budget funding. Planning Section-3 covers all the Development Projects and Revenue Budget Financed Development Programs of the Public Library Department, Archeological Department, Bangladesh Folk Art & Crafts Foundation, Tribal Cultural Academy, Rangamati, Bandarban and Cox's Bazaar Cultural Center. The Implementation Monitoring & Evaluation Division (IMED) is the central monitoring organ of all development projects of the Government of Bangladesh. IMED belongs to the Ministry of Planning. There are several sections and sub-sector and sectors in the division. Social Sector comprises with three sub-sectors. Under the Sub-Sector-1, the Monitoring & Evaluation Section-2 covers all the Development Projects of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and Ministry of Women & Children Affairs. Ministry of Youth & Sports of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh is responsible to promote sports and development of the youth by facilitating potentialities for local and foreign job markets and making self employment opportunities.
