About 2 sisters who live together in a small seaside town, Pauline is Rose has polio and wears a long calliper. One day her older sister brings a boyfriend home and gradually he falls for the younger handicapped sister. As usual the 3 actors gave a marvelous performance as Rose learns she has much to offer as she discovers herself. The whole film shows Rose and her disability in a very natural way, working in the cottage, cooking and walking through the town in shorts, being an attactive and interesting young woman. Sometimes wrongly listed as "Crippled Rose".

It also had scenes after her amputation, in a wheelchair, and also on crutches, I think. A far superior film, made in Mexico, or Spain. NB There was a TV broadcast in the UK in the 80s or early 90's that showed Frida as a young girl wearing KAFOs's while sitting on the floor.

A Very Long Engagement

The main heroine walks with a limp (had polio as a child) and with a built-up boot on her left leg, but no KAFO or AFO. She is seen using a wheelchair on a few occasions and lots of her walking with difficulty in her boot.

The only brace interest is a (different) young girl about 10 years old who wears a leather/metal laced-up AFO on her right leg. There is a shot of her walking a few yards early on in the film and then about 10 seconds worth with her walking towards camera along the coast of Brittany with the brace very visible.
