From time to time I get enquiries from people in the press and on TV who wish to run articles or programs on abasiophilia or BIID. I try to check these are genuine as far as possible, but can give no guarantees. If you wish to respond please do so directly and caveat emptor. Be aware that what you may say could appear in the media, so do not get involved unless you are aware of this. ADAM (UK Freelance journalist) I have received this enquiry from a freelance journalist in the UK wishing to do a feature in a UK women's magazine. Please contact Adam directly if you wish to take part. Caveat emptor.
Hi there
I was just looking at your website and wondering if you could help with a media enquiry? I'm a journalist in the UK and I'm looking to do a magazine feature on a female pretenders for a top UK womens magazine. I need at least one good case study and i was wondering if you could help me with your connections. All I would ask is that you pass on my contact details to anyone that you think might be interested in telling their story in their own words for a magazine feature that would reach many thousands of people in the UK. I can protect identities by changing names and personal details, however photographs are essential to the story so they must be willing to provide some photographs. There is always a decent payment for those featuring in any article. Please let me know if there might be any way that you can help. Kindest Regards Adam Shaw Feature Writer, Press ID: 942778 Call: +44 07828207189 Hi Roger My particular interest for this feature is female amputee pretenders/wannabes. The article is for a womens magazine so i need a female perspective, however i could also use a male amputee pretender/wannabe who has a female partner who will be part of the feature to provide the female perspective. I would also be interested in talking to similar leg-brace pretenders, wheel-chair pretenders or any other pretenders with other specific disability interests. As a separate issue, I'm just wondering, have you ever had contact with any wannabe amputees that have gone on to actually have amputations? If you have any experience of this I would be very interested to hear about it. Please do post my contact details and please mention that if people wish to contact me by phone I am on GMT (London UK) and I'm available between 9am and 9pm GMT. I would appreciate it if you did not mention the name of the publication to start with, because as a freelance journalist I am not the only person to have been given this brief and I have to protect my interests. In other words, I would prefer not to alert other freelancers or agencies. Your help with this is much appreciated and i will let you know if and when I get any responses. Kindest Regards Adam |
