"To provide financial and moral support to under-priviledged children for thier education and thereby aim at improving the average education level in rural India with main focus on child education."
We adopt and educate the children who are not in a position to get education and are in turn drawn towards child labor. We at Aashritha, are driven by the motto to provide extreme care and education to these children and help them achive their respective dreams.
Our long term goal is to open several residential schools across India, to be able to educate poor students by providing financial and moral support. We are not here to simply give the funds needed for the education, but also try and make sure that the funds are utilized in an effective and efficient manner.
Along with the academic education, we believe in creating general awareness, cultivating moral values and putting traditional yet progessive thoughts to the young minds of these children.
What do we do to get started?
A group of volunteers (educated and trained in Social Services) will go to select village and identify children who really need our support. The coordinating members of Aashritha will go through the shortlisted names, and upon selection of these children, they will be supported for their education (starting from the following academic year).
For example, here is a case that shows what we do: A seven year old girl, Divya, a resident of a small village near Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, lost her parents to natural calamity. She now stays with her grandmother, who can not support her cost of education. Aashritha works for children like Divya. We create a database of such children, who are in a great need of both education and survival with care. With the support of our committed members and volunteers, we provide the support and facilities needed for these children.
How do we Proceed? We adopt kids (after thorough selection process) between 7 to 10 years in age, from a select villages or cities and set up a plan for each one of them. Prime purpose is to arrange every basic thing that is needed to educate them till the 10th grade (or more, depending on their success). The kids will be provided with all the facilities necessary for their education. We rent a house (or a place in or around the home village) and hire a respective care-taker, who provides food and basic help & care required for each group of children. The children are admitted to a nereby Goverment approved school. A tuition teacher is arranged to help the kids to do their homework and clear their doubts.
For monitoring and controlling reasons, the village or town of education is always in or around the area of one of our committed members. |
